CENTROCOT: 30 years of activity at the service of the textile and clothing
Established in 1987
Established in Busto Arsizio – Varese – on 7th October 1987 by entrepreneurial associations, trade associations, trade unions, public bodies and the credit institutions spread all around the territory, Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento S.p.A. – in short Centrocot – was founded out of the need to support the companies that make up the whole chain in the Textile and Clothing segment, by providing highly specialized services, from traditional to technical textiles.
With over 100 employees in staff, Centrocot offers highly qualified resources who can perform technical activities as regards testing, research, technical support, experimentation, and training.
The laboratory is accredited by ACCREDIA, the National Body of Accreditment of Test Laboratories, (registration number 00029). The accreditment certifies the technical skill of the staff, the use of adequate equipment, the impartiality of laboratory operators and of technical remarks issued by laboratory.
On 01st December 2011, Centrocot laboratory obtained accreditation as LAT Calibration Center (nr 00029) for measurement of ‘spectral reflectance factor’ by ACCREDIA (Italian Accreditation Body) – Calibration Laboratories Department. Centrocot is thus authorized to issue LAT Calibration Certificates on spectrophotometers and reference materials for colorimetry.
Thanks to one of the most advanced laboratory and to the skill reached in this sector, Centrocot has been notified EEC n.0624 to issue EU Type certificates according to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 abrogating the directive 89/686/EEC for protection garments and gloves against different kind of risk.
Centrocot, as a member of the OEKO-TEX® Association, is the only institute in Italy authorized to issue the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certificate; the certificate guarantees that the product doesn’t contain human harmful substances above the limits of the Standard.

Centrocot, as a member of the OEKO-TEX® Association, is the only institute in Italy authorized to issue the OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certificate; the certificate guarantees that chemical can be used in a sustainable textile production because it doesn’t introduce in the process human and environmental harmful substances. The chemical OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certified indeed is tested and doesn’t contain harmful substances itself above the limits of the Standard.
The laboratory has the necessary accreditation to carry out the necessary tests to obtain the Ecolabel, the ecological product label of European Union that in Italy is issued by Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Commitee.
Centrocot is Member of the International Testing Association for Applied UV Protection and is the only institute in Italy authorized to issue the label UV Standard 801 which certifies the level of UV protection offered by a fabric.

Fondata a Busto Arsizio – Varese – il 7 ottobre 1987 da associazioni imprenditoriali, associazioni di categoria, sindacati, enti pubblici e istituti di credito sparsi in tutto il territorio, Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento SpA – in breve Centrocot – è stata fondata per sostenere le aziende che compongono l’intera catena nel settore tessile e abbigliamento, fornendo servizi altamente specializzati, dal tessile tradizionale ai tessili tecnici.
Con oltre 100 dipendenti, Centrocot grazie al suo staff altamente qualificato svolge attività tecniche quali test di laboratorio, ricerca, supporto tecnico, sperimentazione e formazione.
Il laboratorio è accreditato ACCREDIA, l’Organismo Nazionale di Accreditamento dei Laboratori di Prova (numero di Accreditamento 00029). L’accreditamento attesta la competenza tecnica del personale, l’utilizzo di strumentazione adeguata, l’imparzialità del personale addetto alle prove e dei giudizi tecnici emessi dal laboratorio.
Il laboratorio di Centrocot ha ottenuto in data 01/12/11 l’accreditamento come Centro di Taratura LAT n°00029 per la grandezza ‘fattore di riflessione spettrale’ da ACCREDIA – Dipartimento Laboratori di Taratura. Tale riconoscimento autorizza il Centro a rilasciare Certificati di Taratura LAT su spettrofotometri e materiali di riferimento per colorimetria.
Centrocot, grazie alla presenza di un laboratorio prove tra i più avanzati e alla competenza maturata nel settore, è notificato CEE n. 0624 per il rilascio di Certificati UE del Tipo in conformità al Regolamento (UE) 2016/425 che abroga la direttiva 89/686/CEE per indumenti e guanti di protezione da varie tipologie di rischio.
Centrocot, in qualità di Membro dell’Associazione OEKO-TEX®, è l’unico istituto in Italia autorizzato al rilascio del certificato OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100; tale certificato attesta che il prodotto su cui è apposto, non contiene residui di sostanze nocive per l’uomo al di sopra dei limiti consentiti dallo Standard.
Centrocot, in qualità di Membro dell’Associazione OEKO-TEX®, è l’unico istituto in Italia autorizzato al rilascio del certificato OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD; tale certificato attesta che il prodotto in pelle su cui è apposto, non contiene residui di sostanze nocive per l’uomo al di sopra dei limiti consentiti dallo Standard.
Centrocot, in qualità di Membro dell’Associazione OEKO-TEX®, è l’unico istituto in Italia autorizzato al rilascio del certificato OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT; tale certificato attesta che il prodotto chimico su cui è apposto è utilizzabile nell’ambito di una filiera tessile sostenibile, in quanto non introduce sostanze nocive per l’uomo e per l’ambiente durante il processo. Il prodotto chimico certificato OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT infatti viene testato e non contiene sostanze pericolose al di sopra dei limiti consentiti dallo Standard.
Il laboratorio possiede l’accreditamento necessario per eseguire le prove per l’ottenimento dell’etichetta Ecolabel, l’etichetta ecologica di prodotto dell’Unione Europea che in Italia è rilasciata dal Comitato Ecolabel ed Ecoaudit
Centrocot, in qualità di Membro dell’International testing Association for Applied UV Protection, è l’unico istituto in Italia autorizzato a rilasciare il marchio UV Standard 801, con cui si certifica il grado di protezione dai raggi UV offerto da un tessuto.
