Sustainable circular economy: removing finishing chemicals products from acrylic textile – an online event organized by the REACT project

Materials and Products

Sustainable circular economy in every aspect: how to remove finishing chemicals from acrylic textiles safely and efficiently? The REACT project, funded by the H2020 program, presents the preliminary results of the research at the online conference on October 29th.

For years Centrocot has dedicated particular attention to the theme of the Circular Economy and to the tools useful to achieve a virtuous production model.

A greener industry and a more conscious treatment of raw materials and waste seem to be the only possible approach to a sustainable future.

Several European projects dedicated to this theme, one of them is REACT which, financed by the H2020 program, deals with the management of acrylic textile waste from awnings and outdoor furniture.

Crucial point of the project is the analysis and removal of finishing substances that affect the purity of the secondary raw material and their management. Secondly, it aims to implement a mechanical recycling process to obtain second life fibers and fabrics, whose performance will be tested for the best application.

The partners collaborating in the project will share the progress made in analysis and research during the online conference on October 29, 10.00 am: “Sustainable Circular Economy: Removing finishing chemicals products from acrylic textile”.

The event, open to all and free of charge, aims to involve researchers and innovators, European projects and SMEs interested in the Circular Economy, to promote dialogue and ignite the spark of cooperation aimed at innovation.
