New ITS Technology Sustainability Manager course launched

Organization and Management

ITS COSMO and Centrocot is launching a new course to train sustainability managers to support companies to measure their sustainability

ITS Cosmo’s new two-year course “Technology Sustainability Manager” will start on 31 January. This training project has been set up with companies in the textile and fashion sector to train technical figures for the management, measurement and communication of sustainable development and everything connected with the circular economy and new materials.

The Technology Sustainability Manager is a professional figure capable of interfacing with the company’s customers and suppliers and measuring the progress achieved in sustainability: skills that are becoming increasingly important in a context where we are ALL called upon to contribute to more efficient production and consumption in the use of resources.

The course, which is intended for graduates resident or domiciled in the Lombardy Region, is a two-year course (2,000 hours) and includes 800 hours dedicated to internships in companies, which will enable participants to enter the working environment and contribute to the sustainable development of products and processes.

At the end of the course, participants are awarded the Higher Technician Diploma with certification of skills corresponding to level V of the European Qualifications Framework – EQF. Additional certifications are also envisaged to enhance the training course and the curriculum of the participants: Academy ZDHC – Chemical Management System Course; Auditor Course – third party quality management system according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015; Auditor Course – third party according to UNI EN ISO 14001; Ecodesigner Course – Textile, Clothing and Fashion.

The main venue for the course is Centrocot, Laboratory and Technological Centre for the Textile-Fashion sector, in Busto Arsizio, Piazza Sant’Anna n.2, which will provide highly qualified technical trainers, equipped classrooms and laboratories. The course is co-financed by MIUR and the Lombardy Region on the resources provided by the POR Lombardy ESF 2014-2020 and provides for a registration fee. However, the course will be free of charge for unemployed participants as it will be financially supported by companies interested in these professional figures.
