[:en] With the title “Here the future grows”, the Forum has been a chance to debate on the theme of sustainable development. In particular the Forum highlighted the importance of how to guide the transition towards sustainable models in the manufacturing chains: redesigning the philosophy of the organizations, the governance and, subsequently, the manufacturing process. In fact, a key element of the sustainable development strategy is the involvement of research, of the production system and of the stakeholders concerned, in order to share the experiences gained both from the academic world and from the industrial scenario, to create a fruitful background for sustainable growth. During the 25th of November, Ing Roberto Vannucci, manager of the Research and Innovation Multisectoral area, has brought the testimony of the first results of the C-TEX project, presenting objectives, activities and first prototypes realized. With the direct involvement of 5 players in Lombardy, the CIRCULAR TEXTILES (C-TEX) project covers the entire textile supply chain and aims to implement virtuous practices of circular economy. Thanks to the activities and expertise of excellence in the field, the partners are dealing with the design and development of solutions for the textile sector with representative case studies, focused on the actual activities involved. The studies range from the reduction of manufacturing waste, reintegrating them in an efficient way and with a low environmental impact in the production processes, in order to reduce the down-cycling effect, to the development of innovative methodologies for the sorting of discarded garments at the end of their life cycle in order to establish more efficient good practices with a strong propensity for up-cycling, and, finally, the research of easily detachable polyurethanes, designed to improve the recyclability of garments and prevent their disposal in landfills. The project, co-financed under the Call for proposals Fashiontech, POR FESR 2014-2020, will end in July 2022, and sees the involvement of: – Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento S.P.A. (CENTROCOT) of Busto Arsizio, as lead partner (https://www.centrocot.it/); – T.B.M. S.P.A. of Besnate (http://www.tbm-spa.it/); – FRAMIS ITALIA S.P.A. of Gaggiano (https://framis.it/); – CAUTO-CANTIERE AUTOLIMITAZIONE SOC. COOP. A R.L. of Brescia (https://www.cauto.it/); – G.P.S. TECH S.R.L., innovative start-up based at Fondazione UNIMI, the hub for Technology Transfer and the creation of innovative startups of the University of Milan (https://www.gpstech.it/). COOP. A R.L. di Brescia (https://www.cauto.it/); – G.P.S. The witnesses of the first achieved results, showing the case studies tackled and the exhibition of the concepts of textile goods has been central to the description of the project.
The Forum, held at the headquarters of the Lombardy Region from November 25 to 27, 2021, has been an opportunity to pursue the dialogue between the actors of the system, giving visibility to the best initiatives and spreading knowledge and awareness among citizens.
