[:en]Exporting to Turkey today: everything you need to know[:it]Esportare in Turchia oggi: tutto quello che c’è da sapere[:]
[:en]From 2025, exports of textiles, clothing, and leather products to Turkey will be subject to new procedures regulated through TAREKS, the digital control system managed by the Turkish Ministry of Trade.
TAREKS is a platform that monitors imports of certain products, ensuring technical and health checks, both documentary and physical, before goods enter the country. The provisions apply in particular within the scope of Communication 2025/18 on product safety and control.
How the process works:
- The Turkish importer registers in the TAREKS system.
- The system generates a code, which is necessary to complete the customs declaration.
- The Italian exporter provides the required documentation, which varies depending on the type of products exported.
- The Turkish importer uploads the documents to the system. These must include a test report issued by an accredited laboratory.
Important: Test reports relating to dyes must be issued by laboratories accredited by the Turkish Customs Authorities. Self-certifications are not accepted.
Additional requirements:
The products concerned must be registered with ITKIB, the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters’ Association.
If the Italian company has no previous exports to Turkey, the Turkish importer uploads the Exporter Registry Form (attached) to the system, completed by the Italian company, approved by the Chamber of Commerce and:
certified by the Turkish Consulate, or
equipped with an apostille.
In some cases, the Exporter-Producer Information Form may also be required, which is useful for examining trade policy measures, customs duties, other financial charges, and import conditions, especially when the products are considered “at risk.”
Our advice:
For Italian companies approaching the Turkish market for the first time, we strongly recommend working with a local importer who is familiar with TAREKS procedures.
Centrocot, through the work of its International Technical Area technicians, offers support to companies in all phases of the process and performs any necessary laboratory pre-tests, including for the preparation of the PCoC and SCoC prior to shipment.

-
-
