[:en] After the abrupt halt suffered by Italian companies during 2020 due to the COVID-19 emergency, today the first encouraging signs of recovery are beginning to appear for the textile sector and not only. The respect of the rules of social distancing, essential to deal effectively with the spread of the virus, has required a strong adaptation of the flow and modalities of work. Many fairs and events, traditional moments of meeting and exchange for companies in the textile supply chain, have been organized online or postponed, but the month of June 2021 marked a return to in-person events for Centrocot and many other companies in the textile sector. Together with Sistema Moda Italia, Centrocot participated in the Pitti Immagine Uomo 100 and Milano Unica trade shows, on both occasions for the first time in the role of exhibitors. The next international appointment will be the A+A fair in Düsseldorf, 26 – 29 October 2021, the most important reference point for personal safety, company safety and occupational medicine. Companies in the sector are showing a strong sign of recovery by returning to meet in the modern Agora of innovation and textile excellence.
Pitti Immagine Uomo, an event organized every year in Florence on a semi-annual basis, has worldwide relevance for men’s fashion and is a point of reference for companies in the entire supply chain. One of the focuses of the 2021 edition was sustainability and therefore the participation of Centrocot, which provides companies with research and innovation activities, laboratory tests, certifications and cutting-edge technologies, product life cycle studies, environmental declarations and assertions as tools for measuring sustainability, was a natural and strategic choice.
Milano Unica is the Milan trade fair of reference for high-end fabrics and accessories for women’s and men’s clothing. Created and led by entrepreneurs, it offers international visibility to the textile world in a highly specialized and avant-garde context, to which Centrocot contributed by bringing the example of its international projects dedicated to Circular Economy, lending a hand to companies that want to invest in sustainable innovation activities. There were 3,100 companies that visited the first physical trade fair held in Milan after the second lockdown, encouraging numbers that allow the sector to be confident of an imminent return to its usual pace. “I am sure that this result will help to recreate the conditions for recovery also for the upstream sector of the fashion industry, which is still suffering, despite the recovery of the valley” – commented Alessandro Barberis Canonico, President of Milano Unica.
