[:en] There are more and more training courses that integrate soft skills (transversal skills), with specialized knowledge and skills (hard skills). If it is true that these ones are essential for working in a specific sector, it is also true that today they are no longer enough. Always more frequently companies require that candidates for a specific position also prove to possess transversal skills that are necessary especially for contacts with customers, collaboration between colleagues, relationships with interested parties. Despite the undisputable value of specialized skills, according to some scientific studies, soft skills can represent up to 75% of professional success. This is what the SAMANTHA project (funded by the Erasmus Plus program) is also trying to develop which aims to create a training course focused on Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) for the Habitat and Toolmaking sectors and which combines technical knowledge and soft skills. Along the development of the course, the project follows the “T-shaped skill” training approach in the field of Additive Manufacturing. The vertical bar of the letter T represents the depth of skills in a single domain, while the horizontal bar represents the ability to cooperate across disciplines with experts in other fields and to apply knowledge in fields other than your own. The course curriculum takes into account this approach and offers technical training (vertical bar) such as 3D printing technologies, manufacturing processes with design and modeling software etc. and additional skills (horizontal bar) related to business success such as business model innovation, creativity and social Innovation, Communication & Networking. The training course will be delivered on e-learning platform and it will therefore use innovative digital tools both to introduce its contents in a flexible way and to teach and deepen them through interactive elements. The pilot course will be launched in the second half of this year and it will also include “mentorship” activities, that is, the support of experts for practical comparison and gaining of knowledge through direct testimonials. The registration phase for the pilot course will start over the next months. One of the aspects that has gone through the most from this revolution is the education / training which has made a radical change by having to adapt to the e-learning methodology. Also from the point of view of the content, we are witnessing changes with the recognition of the importance of the so-called “soft skills”.
