Sicurezza e protezione

[:en]As of December 13, 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) EU/2023/988, which replaces the previous General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) 2001/95/EC, is applicable.
The new standard strengthens consumer protection and introduces more stringent safety requirements for products placed on the European market.

To whom does it apply?
The GPSR covers all products intended for consumers, including those not covered by sector-specific regulations. It therefore also includes many items in the softline sector.

To whom does it not apply?
The GPSR does not apply to products already covered by sector-specific regulations, such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medical textiles, and other regulated sectors such as work uniforms, food, cosmetics, toys, etc.

What does it entail for manufacturers?
Obligations include: ensuring product safety, preparing a technical file, conducting a risk assessment, providing instructions and information for safe use, and activating post-marketing surveillance measures.

How to get oriented?
Centrocot provides training activities on the application of GPSR for each type of textile product and services to support companies in complying with the new requirements: defining risks, preparing technical documentation, testing and safety audits.

Come orientarsi?
