Tecnologia e controlli

Textranet is an association of exchange of information and collaboration between European private research centers. The activities carried out - typically meetings and collaborations on topics related to research, technological innovation and business services - aim to share and support the needs of information, new knowledge, technology trends, tests and certifications expressed by textile and clothing companies at a European level.

Textranet stands for Textile Transfer Network and is the association made up by private research organizations working in the European textile and clothing sector, to which 25 different institutes from all European countries adhere, including Centrocot whose CEO Dr Grazia Cerini is a member of the Board..

In total, the institutes employ more than 2,500 people, mainly highly skilled technicians, with a total turnover of around 200 million euros. Most are managed by companies or their associations and all have deep industrial roots in the reference territories.

Textranet is a member of the European Technology Platform for textile and clothing (Textile ETP), participating in the board of directors with two representatives, as well as in various working groups.

In the periodic autumn meeting, ideas and approaches were exchanged regarding some of the issues that interest Italian and European companies, such as: recycling hubs, industry 4.0, bio-based materials, certification schemes for biodegradability and compostability, guidelines and certification for antimicrobial properties.

In particular, it is evident the importance of collaborative technical working groups, such as the one on certification schemes and methods for biodegradability and compostability, in the absence of norms and standards for textile materials, instead defined for other sectors, e.g. plastic packaging.
